Matthew Hudson

Director, Market Access

Matthew Hudson is the Managing Director of Certeva and Director of Market Access, based in Abu Dhabi. He has more than 10 years’ experience across the healthcare industry spanning healthcare research, pharma, biotech, and market access consulting. He has helped pharma and biotech companies address diverse market access challenges across the Gulf and wider MENA region, EU5, US, Asia, Emerging Markets and Globally.

Previously, Matthew was the Health Economics Lead for The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson Middle East, leading Market Access initiatives across the United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar.

Matthew holds multiple advanced degrees from leading universities in the UK. He conducted his MSc research on the cost-effectiveness of prostate cancer screening for the UK National Screening Committee, whilst his MEd research was on teaching and learning of health economics. Matthew achieved a GPA of 4.0/4.0 during his Masters at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge and his thesis on global pharmaceutical innovation was commended for being outstanding.

Matthew is an Honorary Lecturer in Applied Health Economics at the University of South Wales where he teaches modules on national and international health economic decision-making, health economic modelling, and health technology assessment (HTA). Matthew is also actively involved with the University of Cambridge, as an Ambassador for the Masters in Entrepreneurship at Judge Business School. Matthew serves on the Board of the Emirates Health Economics Society as Chair of the Scientific Committee.
